Which sunglasses look best on you?

Updated: Jul 19, 2019

From round to square, diamond to heart, there are countless different head shapes out there. When it comes to sunglasses, there are many different types, shades and sizes that may flatter one head shape more than another. Although it is all personal preference.

But today I'm going to show you which sunglasses would suit you the best!

First, you need to figure out what your head shape is. There are 6 main types of shapes which are heart, square, round, diamond, oblong, and oval. From there, we can choose together.

First is the heart. The heart head shape is longer than it is wide, and the chin is more pointy. The hairline is also shaped in more of a point.

I recommend avoiding sunglasses that are oversized. A pair with a sharp corner will balance out your face and give you a flattering look. If you want to accentuate your features, round glasses would be awesome! Some heart shaped celebrities include Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas, and Cameron Diaz

Next, is the diamond (the rarest one). Similar to the heart shape, the diamond has a more narrow forehead. With often dramatic cheekbones, diamond people often have great facial structure. Most sunglasses look good them but try to stay away from glasses that are round and wider than your face because since the face is already long, you don't want to make it look wider. Some diamond celebrities include Rihanna, J-Lo, and Taylor Swift.

The round head shape is next. With this one, the length and width of your head is about the same, with often very soft features (totally opposite to diamond). Jawline is soft and cheekbones are not prominent. Stay away from round glasses, as they will make your head look more round. Square and angular frames would be perfect! Some celebrities include Selena Gomez, Chrissy Teigen, and Kate Upton.

Ah, the square. Another prominent face shape. With hard angles and usually a sharp jawline. The jawline often matches the width of the forehead, making your face wide. Anything angular with sharp edges would not flatter the square as it would make your face look wider than it actually is. Glasses with soft edges and that matches your width would be ideal. Angelina Jolie, Margot Robbie and Hailey Bieber are all squares (in a good way, I promise).

Oblong. It's not as weird as it sounds. Oblong (or rectangular) head shape, also known as the elongated oval with a stronger jawline. Usually a high forehead that tapers into a narrow chin, it is one of the longer head shapes, but doesn't mean it isn't as beautiful as the rest. Like the square, I recommend more soft edged glasses and rounded corners. Also, you oblongs can rock oversized glasses with ease. Some oblongs are Adam Levine, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Blake Lively.

Last, but defiantly not least is oval! My personal favourite because I'm an oval myself. Us ovals have an almost egg shaped head, and also have softer features (like the round head shapes). Like the diamond, most sunglasses look good on you, but just make sure they aren't wider than your face. You don't want to look too wide, you know? Beyonce, Bella Hadid, and Katy Perry are all ovals.
